In May, Rob Stegnauer began selling his freshly made BBQ on Main Street in Collegeville Borough. Although his business is currently take-out only, customers can sit and enjoy their meals outside on Chow Bistro’s tables next door. Rob’s menu changes, but smoked chicken, ribs and briskets are staples. Sides include Mama’s potato salad, cornbread and mac and cheese.
Rob, who is originally from South Carolina, grew up learning southern barbequing as “just a part of life.” He has 26 years’ experience working as a restaurant chef, including a four-year stint at the former Appalachian Brewing Company where Troubles End Brewing is now.

Steg’s opening is part of the First Phase of Collegeville Borough’s revitalization of their Main Street, in partnership with Ursinus College and Silverback Investment Partners.
