On Saturday, Dec. 4, the Collegeville Economic Development Corp. (CEDC) held Collegeville’s Tree Lighting and Visit from Santa at the Trailhead Park across from the Collegeville Diner.
Kids and adults enjoyed Christmas music, a bouncy house and low-tech games. Our Mayor Aidsand Wright-Riggins acted as MC and welcomed the crowd as they waited for Santa’s arrival on a Fire Truck. Santa (Larry DiPiano) joined Mrs. Claus (Karen McCaslin) at the event to light the tree and listen to what the kids wanted for Christmas from a safe distance due to COVID.
Everyone was then invited to a warm-up reception at “Victoria’s on Main” in the former DaVinci’s Pub for hot chocolate, cookies, and adult beverages. About 100 adults and children attended, and everyone seemed to enjoy the event. Our special thanks to the Collegeville Fire Company for safely delivering Santa from the North Pole, and to Victoria’s on Main Restaurant for hosting the reception.
